Kai's 1st Birthday -- July 22nd

Kai turned one on July 22nd. We have a tradition in our house that we began when Adam was a baby. We strip the birthday child down to their diaper, put them on garbage bags, sing "Happy Birthday," help them blow out the candle and then hand them their cake. It has been interesting over the years to see the different reactions of each child. As you can see, Kai enjoyed smashing his cake (with a little help from his siblings.)

Kai is all boy (except when he is upset --then he pouts in a corner and waits for someone to come and rescue him). He loves to throw and kick any size ball he can find. This is one of his new balls.


He also likes to zoom things around on the floor. But since the past five children have been girls, we no longer had any cars. Boys must be born liking cars because even though there are plenty of dolls and fairies to play with, Kai, instead, spent his time pushing/zooming around on the floor anything he could find to be a substitute car -- a block, a lid, a cup, a gameboy. So, we decided it was time to get him some cars of his own.
