About Adam

This blog entry highlights a few things about Adam.

This is Adam on St. Patrick's Day attempting to scare the leprechaun away from the pot of gold.
The Pukalani youth hosted a dance in our ward building. Since this was their first time as the host, they decided to put on a floor show as well. The youth spent many many (and I do mean MANY) hours learning the cha-cha. A couple in our ward taught them the moves and then choreographed a routine for them and even purchased them matching outfits. Adam discovered that he loves to dance. He did a great job (we think he was the best out of the young men --and of course, we are not biased :-) ). After this dance, we caught him practicing his "moves" in front of the full-length mirror. He's perfected some pretty smooth dance tricks and loves going to the stake dances to try them out. We call him "Twinkle Toes." This is Adam with his partner, Harmony.

These are the Pukalani young men -- a great group of boys. Adam's best friends are Logan Birch (the other haole on the left) and Keoni Kapisi (2nd from the right).

Adam also participated in basketball last school year. This is part of the Kihei Charter JV team. Adam worked really hard, and we enjoyed going to his games and cheering on his team.

Adam turned fifteen on May 3rd. Yes, he will be able to drive in Nov. (must be 15 1/2 to get a learner's permit in Hawaii). I'm scared to have him driving the curves up the volcano, but since Rob will be teaching him to drive, he'll probably be a better driver than me in no time.

This is a picture of Adam's birthday breakfast -- Loco Moco, a Hawaiian breakfast favorite consisting of a mound of rice topped with a fried egg and a beef patty and then smothered in gravy. We think the local versions need to "kick it up a notch," so that is exactly what Rob did. Boy was it delicious!

And for his cake, a flourless chocolate torte. You can tell by the look on his face how good it is.
